I have been working in my spare time on a couple projects that should help instrument techs everywhere. To that end I am exploring the use of Redpark’s serial cables with an iOS app to connect to a EFM gas meter (like a SCADAPack or ROC or Floboss).
Its been tough slugging because Objective C and Swift are so far from my daily scripting/coding stuff at work. But the experience has been good overall because it is expanding my abilities.
Last night I made some progress and was reminded again that when I need help I just need to ask. Redpark was kind enough to supply me a X Code project that shows the implementation of their Objective C framework in a Swift based project.
